AccelerComm, a leader in delivering high-performance 5G technology for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), today announced that it has become a member of the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA), a global organization dedicated to the advancement of satellite-based mobility solutions across industries and markets. Through its MSUA membership, AccelerComm will look to collaborate with other satellite and mobile communications industry experts to advance the deployment of 3GPP standards-based technology to deliver resilient, universal coverage from orbit, and to open up a range of new use cases for consumers, enterprises, and government/defense users.
MSUA represents a diverse ecosystem of organizations, including sectors such as transportation, logistics, public safety, emergency response, and field services. Representing the interests of mobile satellite users and service providers globally for the past 30 years, the association is dedicated to promoting satellite mobility innovations and development of the satellite mobility market worldwide.
“The convergence of satellite and terrestrial 5G networks is gathering momentum but for this market to reach its full potential will require alignment and co-operation from across the industry to develop the necessary devices, networks and standards,” said David Helfgott, CEO of AccelerComm. “We are delighted to be joining MSUA and look forward to collaborating with members to help make this a reality.”
“We are thrilled to welcome AccelerComm to MSUA and are excited that they will share their unique expertise and experience in delivering 5G NTN networks,” said Roger Lanctot, President of MSUA. "To successfully deliver on the promise of satellite innovation requires that we cultivate an extensive and varied partner ecosystem, and AccelerComm brings key expertise and a fresh perspective to the changing nature of satellite networks which will be invaluable to our members.”
AccelerComm recently announced a funding round totalling $15m, with the capital being used to further develop and accelerate deployment of the company’s 5G satellite communications products and technology that enable Direct-to-Device (D2D) and Internet-of-Things (IoT) communications between phone handsets and remote telematics devices with space-based satellite networks.
