Satellite Industry Forum
The Satellite Connectivity market is anticipated to rise at a considerable rate in the next decade. According to Allied Market Research, the global satellite connectivity market was valued at $11.12 billion in 2021, and is projected to reach $22.12 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 7.3% from 2022 to 2031.
What will be the key strategies that the major players will adopt to meet market expectations over the projected horizon? How are satellite operators making satellite broadband services affordable and accessible to businesses and consumers in the vast remote and rural regions? What various growth opportunities and returns on investments will we expect in the coming years?
For the past year, we have also seen growing activity among satellite network operators keen to integrate the soon-to-be-available LEO-derived bandwidth with existing GEO services. From a business point of view, does this strategy makes sense? How do operators encompass NGSO alongside a GEO business model?
Join us on 6 June 2023 at the Satellite Industry Forum in Singapore as we speak to some of the industry’s top leaders for their insights into these questions and more, as they gear up for greater growth and expansion for their businesses in 2023 and beyond.

Indonesia in View
OTT streaming in Indonesia skyrocketed in popularity during the third year of the pandemic, according to the new Future of TV study by The Trade Desk. The study shows that nearly one in 3 Indonesians now stream OTT and Indonesians are consuming a substantial 3.5 billion hours of OTT content every month.
In AVIA’s Indonesia in View Report, Subscription Video on Demand has grown by more than 50% from 2020 to 2021, to 11.5M subscribers, while digital advertising grew by 33% over the same period.
Pay television on the other hand, has plateaued and while DTH services are the biggest victims of increased broadband penetration, cable numbers are still increasing, hence the overall pay TV market remains significant, even if ARPUs are under pressure. But all eyes are now on the premium OTT market. And while fragmentation of services is an issue, it is clear that there is more than enough scale in premium OTT to sustain growth in the sector.
Following the success of our event in 2022, join us back on 31 August at Indonesia in View 2023 as we hear from some of the industry’s biggest players for a day of discussions dissecting the opportunities for growth in this expansive market, and how the linear and streaming businesses have changed over the last year.

Thailand in View
OTT video streaming is growing exponentially in Thailand. Some of the world’s biggest and most established streaming platforms are working hard to cement their position in the country. How are local streamers differentiating their services to compete with international ones and vice versa? What would it take to grow the local subscription ecosystem overall?
On the other hand, according to GlobalData, the pay TV service revenue in Thailand is expected to grow from $734 million in 2021 to $1.1 billion in 2026, supported by growing DTH, cable TV and IPTV subscriptions. IPTV subscriptions will surpass DTH subscriptions in 2023 and will go on to account for 56% share of the total pay TV subscriptions by the end of 2026. This growth will be driven by the rising adoption of multi-play packages with integrated IPTV services, and the promotion of fixed broadband bundles with access to IPTV services.
Thailand in View 2023 will explore the challenges being faced by local, regional and global streaming services, and what their priorities are around content, growth and ultimately, business models, for the coming year. Will the growing consumption of streaming services undermine the pay TV business? Or will both services be able to grow alongside and not at the expense of each other?

OTT Summit
As more and more streaming platforms launch in Asia, some of the largest names in the industry have finally seen their first subscriber drop-off in a decade. Can this be simply attributed to the increased competition, or are these “declines” symptomatic of an over-saturated market that is likely to continue seeing more consumer churn?
In Asia, and particularly Southeast Asia, the video streaming sector is a long way from reaching maturity. According to a recent 2022 report by Media Partners Asia, the SEA region saw 2.5 million net new subscribers, taking total subscriptions to 43.5 million. Does this mean that streaming services still have lots of potential to grow in this region? Or is growth starting to slow down as more platforms enter the fray? And the bigger question remains: How much growth and profit can be generated from Asia alone?
Join us on 5 December 2023 at the OTT Summit in Singapore as we speak to some of the industry’s top leaders for their insights into these questions and more, as they gear up for greater growth and expansion for their businesses in 2023 and beyond.
