Northrop Grumman Australia invests in scholarships for Australian students

Northrop Grumman Australia will invest approximately AU$170,000 in three graduate education scholarships as part of its partnership with the American Australian Association (AAA).

The inaugural Northrop Grumman Australia AUKUS (Australia, United Kingdom, United States) Tech Innovation Scholarships will provide select Australian students with over AU$55,000 to undertake research in areas of study to further the implementation of the AUKUS partnership. The scholarships will support three graduate level, Ph.D. or post-doctoral candidates from Australia, to conduct innovative research in the fields of machine learning, hypersonics or quantum technologies at an accredited educational institution in the United States.

“Northrop Grumman Australia and the AAA have partnered for nearly a decade to offer Australian students opportunities to collaborate with U.S. research partners across a range of STEM disciplines critical to Australia’s future,” said Christine Zeitz, general manager, Northrop Grumman Asia Pacific. “It is more important than ever to invest in skills and qualifications to support defence capability and technology advancement as Australian Defence Force requirements evolve.”

The first scholarship will be advertised through the AAA in 2023, with the following two scholarships offered in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
