Seraphim has announced the launch of its European subsidiary, Seraphim Space Europe GmbH, headquartered in Berlin. This milestone comes at a pivotal moment for Europe, as SpaceTech is playing an increasingly vital role in tackling the continent’s key challenges, from enhancing European security and sovereign defence capabilities to driving leadership in addressing climate change. To firmly anchor the new entity within the German and European space ecosystem, Seraphim has appointed Hans Steininger, Arndt Geiwitz, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hermann, and Christoph Keese as co-shareholders by rolling up the engagement in their previous vehicle Einstein Industries Ventures, leveraging their deep domain expertise.
Hans Steininger is shareholder and CEO emeritus of MT Aerospace, a leading supplier of space technology; Arndt Geiwitz is CEO and shareholder of SGP, a leading tax and restructuring firm; Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hermann, formerly a board member of Heidelberger Druck, is a recognised expert in industrial software and platform services; and Christoph Keese is an investor and entrepreneur specialising in digital transformation and new business models.
Mark Boggett, CEO and Co-Founder of Seraphim, commented: “With this initiative, Seraphim is strengthening its presence in the European space ecosystem and laying the groundwork for deeper engagement with the public, policymakers, and the investment community. It is the natural next step after establishing our operations in the United States and consolidating a strong lead position in the United Kingdom.”
James Bruegger, Chief Investment Officer and General Partner, added: “By working with such a highly experienced team, we are positioned to accelerate SpaceTech investment across Europe and strengthen its impact on defence, security, and climate innovation.”
The Berlin-based subsidiary will serve as Seraphim’s European hub, advancing the company’s mission to raise awareness of the transformative potential of space technologies and representing Seraphim in key industry forums and networks across the region. A key part of the subsidiary’s mandate is to foster collaboration between European innovators, corporates, and governments, helping drive SpaceTech’s impact in addressing Europe’s most pressing challenges. All co-shareholders will act as Operating Partners for Seraphim, with Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hermann and Christoph Keese additionally serving as Co-CEOs of the new entity.
'Seraphim, through its accelerators, VC fund and growth fund (Seraphim Space Investment Trust plc), is currently invested in 28 European companies (outside of UK) from 18 countries, demonstrating the firm’s deep commitment to nurturing SpaceTech innovation across the continent.
