At 04:12 am (UTC) on 7 December 2021, Spacety successfully launched two new satellites into space on board the CERES-1 Y2 rocket. They were launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in northwest China, and both these new satellites, BAOYUN and LIZE-1, have successfully entered into their respective orbits.
BAOYUN is a 20kg microsatellite, which is a pioneer in-orbit technology validation (IOV) mission for the upcoming 'Tiansuan' constellation. The satellite carries an on-board intelligent computing platform to carry out in-orbit high-performance computing experiments such as edge computing and intelligent IoT processing. In addition, other payloads such as one GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) radio occultation payload are equipped to implement relevant space experiments and services.
LIZE-1 is a scientific experimental satellite built by Spacety in collaboration with two other Chinese companies. The satellite carries a novel satellite platform to carry out in-orbit demonstration (IOD) tests. The LIZE-1 mission will pave the way for the future satellite constellations based on such a novel platform thereby providing better IOV/IOD services to Spacety’s customers.
This is the 13th space mission of SPACETY. Up to now, we have successfully launched 23 satellites into space to provide IOV/IOD for our customers.
