Raytheon introduces SYNAPSIS NAVAL

Raytheon Anschütz has launchedSYNAPSIS NAVAL, a next generation naval navigation and bridge system with user-centered design. The new technology leverages Raytheon Anschütz’s proven SYNAPSIS Integrated Navigation System and integrates various military system capabilities including: radar video merging and other tactical radar features, integrated situational awareness, ship self-defense capabilities, military surveillance radars, and cyber security solutions.

Andreas Weidner, director of Business Development for Raytheon Anschütz, said: “Our software architecture delivers increased system interoperability and advanced operational capabilities while mitigating integration risk for customers. We have a legacy of bridge system integration experience, across bridge navigation systems and third-party equipment such as specialized radars or WECDIS, which is based on more than 111 years of research, development and execution.”

SYNAPSIS NAVAL is a software-defined system built on commercial off the shelf (COTS) technology and open system architecture to simplify maintenance and logistics and to support upgrades and future capability needs. SYNAPSIS NAVAL features an advanced sensor degradation and data distribution management, which provides the base for scalability of system functions and integration with other onboard systems like automation or combat management. This includes integration of customer-specific equipment (GFE) and integration on customer provided hardware or network infrastructure.

Raytheon Anschütz has designed Integrated Navigation and Bridge Systems for the world’s most sophisticated naval programs, with more than 1,200 Integrated Navigation and Bridge Systems delivered to date.
