ProLabs to unveil Multi-Service Optical platform for extending and monitoring networks at LINX 2019

ProLabs is set to reveal its latest pay-as-you-grow optical solution empowering both mobile and fixed line broadband operator networks to expand, alongside its leading portfolio of optical connectivity solutions at LINX 2019, 19-20 August. As networks aim to meet growing 5G connectivity demands, the EON-OMP-2 Multi Service Platform enables operators to both increase capacity and monitor network performance to deliver high-quality connectivity. Providing operators with the tools to build and monitor optical networks in a compact, power efficient form factor, the EON-OMP-2 addresses space, power and capacity demands in today’s growing high throughput environments. “We are thrilled to launch our new Optical Multi Service Platform to new customers in the European market.” said Anthony Clarkson, Technical Director at ProLabs. “With our existing customers already using the product to build and grow scalable, high-capacity network infrastructures, other operators will now be able to use the flexible platform to match the scale of both fixed line broadband and 5G network demands now and in the future.” The EON-OMP-2 is a multi-service optical platform which allows remote fibre monitoring as well as the ability to maximise infrastructure development with amplification, 2.5G/10G OEO transponder module and the provision of 100G Muxponder/Transponder modules. It is a cost-effective platform to extend existing networks and services and can also drastically reduce the time needed to troubleshoot network issues. Critical to any data centre environment, the EON-OMP-2 addresses limited space and power challenges in a small form factor at an affordable price, without compromising on the quality of data transmission. The product also allows for the remote monitoring of WDM wavelengths on optical fibres. Network issues can be identified quickly and without causing major network infrastructure disruption, saving operator’s time. Anthony adds: “We are looking forward to sharing the Optical Multi Service Platform with attendees at LINX 2019. This product is the first innovative product to launch within our Active Solutions portfolio. The portfolio provides complete solutions for our operators to manage their fibre and monitoring capabilities to lay the foundations for highly scalable networks. Combined with our 5G and Data Interconnect solutions, the EON-OMP-2 will enable more operators to increase network visibility and enhance optical networks ready to address the requirements for both 5G and fixed line broadband networks.”
