Connected Britain, the conference and exhibition which Total Telecom has established as the UK’s premier UK connectivity event in just under five years, has received the recognition it deserves when it was named as the winner of the PPA Independent Publisher Awards for being the Event of the Year in Business or Consumer Media. The award was received at the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) glittering awards ceremony in London. The PPA has been established for more than 100 years and while it was originally created to support the magazine sector it now has more than 250 member-companies from magazine publishers to business-to-business data and information providers. “I am tremendously proud of our team, who have made this award possible and I am appreciative of how the industry has supported what we have been trying to achieve,” said a delighted Rob Chambers, Managing Director at Total Telecom. “Connected Britain is now the flagship event for the UK telecoms industry and provides a unique platform at a time when new technologies and solutions are continually being developed to take us through an era of unparalleled change”. In addition to Connected Britain, Total Telecom runs other prestigious events including the Total Telecom Congress and the World Communication Awards. The judges commented on the rapid growth of the event in such a short space of time. They were also impressed by how Connected Britain attracted the major players in the industry while also celebrating the start-ups and helping expose them to the right people.
