RSCC to organize online webinar “C-band downlink local interference in GEO satellite networks. Origin, mitigation and troubleshooting”

The international webinar: “C-band downlink local interference in GEO satellite networks. Origin, Mitigation and Troubleshooting” will be held on 22 July 2020, 9:00 (GMT). The webinar is organized by Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) and Intersputnik Operations Committee.

This webinar is aimed at the ground staff, satellite engineers and CTOs of Satellite Teleports, VSAT network Operators and Satellite service providers, operating satellite communications networks in C-band all over the world.

The purpose of this webinar is to demonstrate that despite numerous issues with interference from local terrestrial wireless systems, C-band remains a vital part of satellite communications service for critical applications and high availability channels. Careful and professional operation of C-band earth station with protection against local interference allow teleport and service providers providing reliable connectivity service for end users at C-band frequencies.

Among the topics to be discussed:

1. Pros and Cons in using C-band for satellite networks, nowadays and in the future.

2. Factors affecting quality of satellite links in C-band.

3. Ways of searching and identifying the source of local interference.

4. How to mitigate the influence of local terrestrial interference to the performance of your C-band satellite network.
