Filippov will join Milrem Robotics from Ericsson where he currently works as the Head of Development for Product Security Operations, which is part of the Chief Product Security Officer’s organization.

Filippov has been with Ericsson for the last ten years, mostly in positions responsible for various programs and projects, including the development of the Estonian government’s cloud solution, deployment of strategic networks for the government and radio access networks for commercial operators, and rollout of a nationwide smart-metering project.

Prior to joining Ericsson, he served in different positions in the Estonian Air Force HQ, the General Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces, and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Estonia.

Aleksei Filippov is a graduate of the Estonian National Defence College and the United States Air Force Air Command and Staff College. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, USA.

“Project management is a crucial part of Milrem Robotics. We work with customers in 14 different countries and each delivery is a project of its own and is equally important as our goal is to keep customers happy. Aleksei’s defence forces and industry background makes him a perfect addition to our team, to lead our project managers and help us deliver the quality clients expect from us,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.

“I am very excited to join Milrem Robotics’ team. From day one, I have been a true admirer of the company’s efforts to disrupt the defence industry that is dominated by big players. I believe that joining Milrem Robotics is a once in a lifetime opportunity, that allows me to leverage my professional skills and experience gained in the public and private sectors,” said Filippov.

“As the new head of the project management department, it is my objective to further develop the team and to take the company’s project management practices to the next level. I want to harmonize the practices with the company’s other internal processes, to help the customers achieve their goals with the deployment and integration of Milrem Robotics’ solutions,” Filippov added.
