Azercosmos has launched its first-ever National Space Incubation program to support the development of space startups and strengthen Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem.
The six-month program is designed for early-stage startup teams working on Earth Observation applications, digital platforms and other space-based solutions. It helps participants turn their ideas into practical products that can enter the market.
Eight teams were selected for the program. During the first stage, they took part in technical and business training, market research, business model development, prototyping and pitching sessions. The teams also received guidance from local and international mentors and gained access to the wider space innovation ecosystem.
As an important milestone of the program, Azercosmos held a Demo Day, where seven teams presented their startup ideas to a jury and other participants.
The teams explained the problems they aim to solve, their proposed solutions, target customers and future growth plans. Following each presentation, the jury provided feedback on product development, market potential and business strategy.
The presented projects included solutions for:
automated real estate valuation and compliance assessment using GIS;
identifying suitable locations for food service businesses through satellite data;
environmental monitoring and protection;
detecting changes and preparing analytical reports for companies;
identifying potential fishing areas using GIS and artificial intelligence;
monitoring soil fertility and irrigation systems;
analyzing natural disasters and assessing risks.
Following Demo Day, the participating teams will move into the active product development stage. With the support of experienced mentors, they will continue to develop, test and improve their solutions in real-world conditions.
The program also provides opportunities to connect with local and international experts, enter the global space ecosystem and attract potential investment for market-ready projects.
Through the National Space Incubation program, Azercosmos aims to encourage technology entrepreneurship, support the creation of new space-based services and contribute to the development of Azerbaijan’s digital economy.
