Azercosmos’ SPACE Academy joins the International Space Education Board

Azercosmos’ SPACE Academy has officially become a member of the International Space Education Board (ISEB), following a unanimous vote by the Board’s member space agencies.

Established on October 17, 2005, ISEB brings together leading space agencies and organizations from around the world. Its members include NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and other international organizations working in the fields of space and education.

ISEB’s primary objective is to support the development of education in space science and technology and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among its members.

By joining ISEB, SPACE Academy becomes the Board’s 12th member, joining 11 leading international space agencies and organizations. This membership will contribute to the international recognition of Azerbaijan’s achievements in space education and create broader opportunities for the country in this field. Through its participation in the Board, SPACE Academy will strengthen international cooperation in the space sector and further contribute to the development of human capital in Azerbaijan.

For the past three years, SPACE Academy has played an important role in developing Azerbaijan’s national space ecosystem. During this period, more than 12,000 schoolchildren, young people, and teachers have participated in 26 projects implemented by the Academy in cooperation with local and international partners.

These initiatives include the International Space Olympiad; experience-exchange programs in the fields of space, aviation, and the defence industry at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC); the “StarTech” program at the GUHEM Centre; “APRSAF-30 Stargazing”; the International Space Poster Competition; the “APRSAF-JAXA” Space, Aviation and STEAM seminars; the CanSat Competition; the “Space Series” ecosystem programs; the Global Youth Summit; and meetings with astronauts.
