Eclipse is developing STCs and installation kits for Gogo Galileo supporting Eutelsat OneWeb Services for two European military aircraft platforms

Eclipse Global Connectivity (Eclipse) announced, at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX -Stand 2C40), that it is contracted to develop two new Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and installation kits for the Gogo Galileo HDX and FDX antennas. The STCs are being developed for two European military aircraft platforms. In partnership with SD Government, a Gogo company (NASDAQ: Gogo) serving the military/government markets, Eclipse will also provide Galileo system airtime services, giving these clients access to Eutelsat OneWeb’s LEO satellite network.

Marc Pinault, CEO of Eclipse, emphasized the team's rapid progress in developing new STCs for the European military market, stating: "We are extremely pleased to be developing these STCs so soon after our appointment as SD Government Authorised Resellers. Delivering on our promise to help more defense-related aircraft operators achieve their mission objectives with connectivity is a point of pride. For these projects, we selected and are supplying Gogo's HDX and FDX Antennas from SD Government— the only antennas currently qualified by Eutelsat OneWeb for government aircraft platforms. Offering high-speed, low-latency connectivity, these solutions fit our clients' demanding requirements."

Ben Massey, Senior Vice President SD Government, underscored the significance of the partnership, stating: “We are impressed at the speed with which Eclipse is bringing our antennas to the European military/government market. This collaboration is a testament to what is possible when two industry leaders join forces, and we are eager to continue expanding our relationship, with a roadmap for future STCs from Eclipse.”

More About The Solution

The Gogo Galileo system connects to Eutelsat’s OneWeb constellation of LEO satellites delivering high-speed, low-latency connectivity around the world. For defense users, the resilient architecture ensures secure, reliable communications, supporting critical missions where uninterrupted connectivity is essential.

The Gogo Galileo system includes HDX and FDX electronically steered antennas (ESA). HDX provides a compact, lightweight, low-power, high-performance solution with reliable speeds up to 60 Mbps, optimized for light to large aircraft. FDX, a larger full-duplex antenna for larger aircraft, delivers consistent speeds of up to 195 Mbps to the aircraft, and 32 Mbps off, ensuring maximum throughput for the most demanding connectivity needs. This enables secure, efficient communication for complex, mission-critical operations.

Designed for efficient installation, both antennas provide a minimally invasive integration process that reduces aircraft downtime. Gogo further supports operators and integration partners with dedicated entry-into-service training to help ensure a seamless deployment experience.
