ETL Systems has completed a major infrastructure programme at its Herefordshire site with the opening of a brand-new production facility. The expansion follows the opening of a state-of-the-art research and development centre in Rickmansworth last year.
The Herefordshire-based technology company has seen impressive growth of an average of 21% per year over the last 19 years, working with global brands within the satellite communications sector.
The newest building, C4, includes significant investment in leading-edge assembly technologies to support the company’s engineering, production and test team capabilities and will be the fifth building at the business's headquarters, located in Madley.
C4 will provide capacity for the next phase of the company’s growth, as well as being part of the company’s continuing investment into the county through the creation of new employment opportunities.
The new building will facilitate and support the further expansion of the business and its manufacturing capability.
The opening of the C4 facility was marked with a guest appearance from Mr Edward Harley OBE, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire.
Commenting on ETL’s impressive growth and the opening event Mr Edward Harley OBE, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire, said:
“It was a real pleasure to attend the opening ceremony of ETL’s new C4 building and take a tour of their impressive facilities. The UK space sector is currently booming and it’s fantastic to see a local business leading on such innovative and cutting-edge projects. I very much look forward to seeing ETL’s continued success.”
Describing the importance of the recent investment, Ian Hilditch, Chief Executive Officer said:
“I’m incredibly proud of what the ETL team has achieved in recent years, especially given the huge challenges businesses faced during the pandemic and beyond. The fact we’ve opened not one, but two new sites is testament to the talent and dedication of our team. Innovation has always been at the heart of what we do, and the ability to showcase our expertise to potential customers and partners at a cutting-edge site is incredibly exciting and something few companies our size can offer. As a significant employer in Herefordshire, we are also proud to announce that the building will provide capacity for expansion of the 150-strong staff by offering new job opportunities within the local community.”
