Eutelsat welcomes Eclipse as its first European OneWeb Government Aviation Distribution Partner to provide LEO connectivity services to the French Government

Eclipse Global Connectivity (Eclipse) has announced an agreement with Eutelsat designating Eclipse as a European OneWeb Government Aviation Distribution Partner (DP) serving the French Government.
Under this agreement, Eclipse becomes a strategic provider of Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) airtime services and integrated connectivity solutions to the French Armed Forces and French Government aircraft operators. At the same time, Eutelsat will benefit from Eclipse’s long-standing relationship with the French Government and its ability to certify connectivity solutions on any aircraft platform.
The partnership combines Eutelsat’s global LEO constellation with Eclipse’s 30-year track record in certifying, integrating, and delivering tailored SATCOM solutions for defense and government aircraft platforms. By combining airtime, advanced LEO SATCOM hardware, cabin networking systems, and Eclipse’s proprietary Aero+ software, the solution delivers low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity engineered for demanding operational missions.
Deployment will begin swiftly, with the first French military aircraft slated to be equipped with OneWeb LEO connectivity this month. This initial rollout will pave the way for broader fleet adoption.
Marc Pinault, CEO of Eclipse, highlighted the added value being a DP offers clients, saying, “Eclipse is a leader in providing SATCOM solutions to military, government and commercial aircraft operators worldwide. For more than thirty years, we have focused on complete solutions that make it easier for aircraft operators of all types to achieve their objectives through SATCOM. Becoming a Eutelsat OneWeb Aero Distribution Partner to the French Armed Forces is a major milestone for our company. This agreement allows us to deliver sovereign, low-latency, high-throughput LEO solutions tailored to the critical requirements of French government platforms. We are honoured and excited to expand our products and services portfolio in partnership with Eutelsat.”
Jason Sperry, Head of Business & Global Government Aviation at Eutelsat, also acknowledged the benefits of the partnership saying: “Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO network brings low-latency, high-throughput connectivity to aircraft operating on demanding government missions. By combining that capability with Eclipse’s expertise in integrating and certifying solutions across aircraft platforms, we have a clear route to bring OneWeb connectivity to French government and military fleets. We are pleased to partner with Eclipse and to see the first deployment move forward so quickly.”
