Filtronic strengthens access to India’s space & defence sector through new Memorandum of Understanding


Filtronic has announced a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Marubeni Corporation subsidiary Spur Microwave Inc to accelerate its expansion into India, one of the world’s fastest growing space and defence markets. Spur is part of the wider Marubeni Group, one of Japan’s largest and most established trading and investment groups, bringing additional international scale, commercial reach and market credibility to the relationship.
Filtronic has appointed Spur in India to provide an established route to market, supporting engagement with customers and programmes across government, space and defence.
The agreement marks an important step in Filtronic’s growth strategy within one of the world’s most dynamic space economies. India’s is one of the leading space faring nations globally, with a strong track record of achievement spanning advanced launch capabilities, satellite programmes and pioneering deep-space exploration. India continues to accelerate investment in space and defence systems, creating growing demand for advanced RF, sensing and communications technologies. Spur’s established presence, relationships and knowledge of the Indian market will better position Filtronic to engage key stakeholders and pursue opportunities across satellite payloads, ground segment infrastructure, communications networks and advanced sensing applications.
