NSW defence and aerospace businesses are set to showcase their unique products, skills and innovative ideas at next week’s INDO PACIFIC 2022 International Maritime Exposition (Indo Pac) taking place from 10-12 May at the International Convention Centre Sydney, for the first time in over two years.
Stephen Cartwright OAM, the UK Agent General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner is travelling to Sydney from London along with colleague Anthony Heath, Senior Trade & Investment Director Defence. Their role is to support the 38 local NSW businesses who might be considering the UK as well as highlighting the opportunity for the UK to do business with or in New South Wales.
Twenty UK businesses will be exhibiting in the Sydney conference including global defence leaders BAE Systems through to innovative firms from across the UK including Reading based Horizon Technologies, Portsmouth’s Subsea Craft and the West Midland’s Westley Group.
“As it is the first time New South Wales has had an Agent General for some thirty years in the UK, my role is to promote and open up opportunities for business between the UK and New South Wales, attracting investment, boosting exports and supporting growth” says Cartwright. “Our state hosts some of the highest calibre defence and aerospace businesses in Australia which we are proud to promote”.
The defence and aerospace industry provides excellent employment opportunities, and the NSW Government is committed to supporting the sector as a priority for the state. One example of a NSW company exhibiting is navigation and robotics technology company Advanced Navigation, which sees this as an excellent opportunity to showcase its capabilities to decision-makers across government, industry and scientific delegations and connecting with individuals across every sector.
