Marlink to provide hybrid network solution including Starlink LEO for Genel Denizcilik Nakliyati (Gedenlines)
Marlink will provide Gedenlines with its Sealink Nextgen solution, combining Starlink LEO and global VSAT services, together with XChange network management and cyber security solution.

Marlink has been selected by leading Turkish shipmanager Genel Denizcilik Nakliyati (Gedenlines) to provision a complete hybrid network and cyber security solution onboard 26 vessels in service and six newbuildings.The agreement was concluded through Marlink’s local partner Ozsay Satellite which worked with the company to provide a high-quality package of enterprise and crew welfare services.

Marlink will provide its Sealink Nextgen solution, combining Starlink LEO and global VSAT services, together with XChange network management and cyber security solution. Gedenlines will use the connectivity across its managed fleet to provide high throughout, low latency business and crew communications, secured with Marlink’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) security solution to enhance cyber resilience.

The solution provides Gedenlines with numerous benefits including:

  • High bandwidth, low latency communications via Sealink Nextgen to support digitalised fleet operations;

  • Enhanced cyber security including application control, web filtering, intrusion protection and anti-virus cyber solutions;

  • Hybrid solution designed for remote operations offers improved uptime and reliability with secure communications and data transfer;

Gedenlines enjoys a strong reputation as an early adopter of new technology onboard vessels under management, maintaining high standards in its shoreside operations as well as for crew onboard ship. This is matched by a strong commitment to the highest standards of health, safety, environmental protection and quality (HSSEQ) in its oil shipping operations.

“High quality tanker shipping requires attention to detail and a dedication to the highest quality standards, something we also expect from all our partners,” said Baris Kopdag,  IT Manager Gedenlines. “Marlink has proven itself to be a supporter of our goals and ambitions to maintain smart and safe operations across our fleet now and into the future.”

“We are delighted to support Gedenlines in its strategy to deliver safe, efficient vessel operations and investing in the welfare of its crews,” said Ali Islamoglu, Director of Satellite Communication, Ozsay Satellite. “Using our local knowledge and commitment to finding the optimum solution, Ozsay is able to help shipowners continue their transition towards a secure digital business model.”

“Marlink is committed to removing the pain points from the digital transformation process and this agreement with Gedenlines is another example of the expertise we deliver,” said Tore Morten Olsen, President, Maritime, Marlink. “Adopting secure digital solutions for the business and crew provides an opportunity to move towards smarter remote operations.”
