Northrop Grumman’s Cedric Mann Honoured at 2023 Black Engineer of the Year STEM conference

Northrop Grumman Corporation employee Cedric Mann has been recognized with top honours at the 37th annual Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference.

Mann, a senior chief engineer, systems architect and tech fellow in Northrop Grumman Space Systems received the 2023 BEYA Senior Technology Fellow Award for his leadership in research and development. For more than 14 years, he has made important contributions to our national security. His work currently focuses on designing and developing technology to be used on space systems. Lending his expert knowledge to multiple programs, he is also a champion for the STEM community and contributes to the company’s talent pipeline by mentoring early and mid-career engineers. Mann earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Wayne State, and a master’s in engineering from George Washington University.


In addition to Mann’s recognition, four Northrop Grumman employees received the Science Spectrum Trailblazer Award for their contributions in shaping the future of engineering, science, and technology in the workforce. Eighteen other employees have been recognized as BEYA Modern Day Technology Leaders for providing important leadership in the future STEM talent pipeline.
