4iG to become anchor investor in Axiom Space

4iG Space and Defence Technologies has joined Axiom Space' development and growth plans as an investor, the capital market company has announced on the Budapest Stock Exchange website.

As part of the transaction, 4iG’s Space and Defence holding company commits to carry out a two-step investment in Axiom Space totalling 100 million USD – the first phase, 30 million USD by December 31, 2025, and the second, 70 million USD by March 31, 2026. The agreement becomes effective upon the completion of the first investment tranche of the transaction.

The partnership is of historic significance for Hungarian-US space research and industry cooperation by creating long-term opportunities to expand the parties’ share in the global space market.

“This collaboration is of historic significance for the Hungarian space industry, as it marks the first time a Hungarian company participates as an owner of a U.S. space player. Axiom Space is working on revolutionary technological solutions that are fundamentally transforming the commercial space sector and setting the direction for developments in the coming decades. This investment represents Hungary's leadership in the space ecosystem and is indicative of the strong ties between Hungary and the United States” – said Gellért Jászai, Chairman of the Board, 4iG.

"We're excited to welcome 4iG Space and Defence as an investor in Axiom Space at such a pivotal moment for commercial space. This investment represents an alignment with a forward-thinking European technology company that shares our vision for commercial space infrastructure. 4iG SDT understands that innovation will strengthen our ability to deliver transformative solutions in microgravity research and development, data processing, and space commercialization. Together, we are building the foundation for a truly global space economy and deepening the relationship between the United States and Hungary" – said Dr. Kam Ghaffarian, Executive Chairman of Axiom Space.
