Commtact has announced the launch of its new Maxi Phoenix system - an advanced wideband data link designed for long-range, mission-critical operations. The company also announced that it has secured its first contract for the Maxi Phoenix with a Tier 1 defense customer, valued at several million dollars.
Maxi Phoenix, the latest addition to Commtact’s Phoenix family, is designed to support long-range, mission-critical operations, providing secure and reliable wideband communication over distances of more than 200 km. Built for demanding operational environments, the system maintains stable performance in both challenging terrestrial and maritime conditions, including in GPS-deprived scenarios, while maintaining an optimized size, weight, and power (SWaP) profile for seamless platform integration.
Currently deployed in the S-band, with future expansion planned for C-band, the system is designed for use across aerial, ground, and maritime configurations, supporting a wide range of operational requirements. In its aerial configuration, the Maxi Phoenix is designed for installation on unmanned aerial platforms, providing extended-range communication capabilities. On the ground, the system supports portable or stationary Remote Video Terminal (RVT) units, enabling tactical forces to control aerial platforms over distances of tens of kilometers. In maritime environments, the system can integrate with the vessel’s INS to maintain stable, high-performance communication even under challenging sea conditions.
“The launch of the Maxi Phoenix marks a significant expansion of our Phoenix family and addresses the increasing demand for resilient, long-range communication across complex operational environments,” said Guy Avrahami, VP Sales & Marketing at Commtact. “This system is designed to support multi-domain operations, enabling secure and reliable connectivity for aerial, ground, and maritime platforms. The signing of this first contract with a Tier-1 customer further reflects strong market confidence in our technology and its operational value.”
